1. Who is Koç University Information Technology (KU IT) & How can I reach them?

2. What is KU NetID? Where can I use it?

KU NetID is your username which is necessary for you to benefit from Information Technology facilities throughout your university life such as library resources, printing etc.

Example e-mail: username24@ku.edu.tr / KU NetID: “username24”

Your KU NetID and password information is sent to you by Koç University via SMS.

For security reasons, you will be automatically directed to change your password sent to you via SMS after your first login.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is used to access Koç University accounts.

MFA is most commonly used in two ways;

1) SMS

2) Microsoft Authenticator

3. What is our campus management platform: KUHub?

KUHub is our campus management platform, which we continue to develop in-house under the leadership of the Information Technology Directorate. We continue to improve the user experience throughout our university with its updated and renewed features in certain phases.

KUHub campus: is the system where students’ first registration to the university and dormitory application processes are carried out.

KUHub Learn: is our learning management platform where you can follow the materials related to your courses here.

4. What is the Student Information System (KUSIS)?

KUSIS (Koç University Student Information System) is the student information system of Koç University.

You can select your courses, view grades and course schedule on KUSIS throughout your university life.

*(Course selections will be made via KUHub campus for graduate and doctoral students, and via KUSIS for undergraduate and exchange students.)

5. What are the commonly used IT services?

E-mail

Google Gmail infrastructure is used for your e-mail account. You can log in with your KU e-mail and password. Your Google quota that you can use during your student life: undergraduate 100 GB, graduate/doctorate/Phd 200 GB)

Microsoft Applications at Koç University:

With the collaboration of Koç University and Microsoft, you can access some applications and a usage area of ​​Microsoft, especially office applications, throughout your student life.

Koç University Mobile Application: KUHub Mobile

KUHub Mobile is designed to enhance the campus experience of our university students, faculty and staff with personalized content and up-to-date information.

With the mobile application, you will be able to access many university services and make course evaluations.

You can download the mobile application from the Apple Store or Play Store.

 

6. How Can I Access the Internet on Campus?

There are three wireless network connections throughout the campus: KU, GUEST and EDUROAM. There is also a wired connection in the dormitory rooms.

KU members can benefit from the KU wireless network connection using their username (KU NetID) and password.

The GUEST wireless network is for guests and is a limited connection. You can also use the GUEST connection when necessary.

EDUROAM is a service that allows staff and students of member universities to access the local institution’s wireless network and internet using their standard username and password at another member university location, just like at their own institution.

7. How Can I Print?

Koç University Rumelifeneri and West campuses use the Find-Me-Printing method.

Find-Me-Printing allows users to send their print jobs from their computers or other devices to a single print queue (KUPRINT / WESTPRINT) and receive them from any printer they prefer within two hours.

 

You can send your prints from the Rumelifeneri campus to KUPRINT, and your prints from the West Campus to the WESTPRINT pool, and then print them by scanning your Koç University card.

You must have a printer quota to print. A certain number of quotas are provided free of charge by the university each year. You can load additional copies for a fee in case the quota runs out.

What Should I Keep in Mind?

Protect Your Personal Information:

Keep your laptops or mobile devices in a safe place. Back up and secure your data. This way, if your computer is stolen or lost, you will not lose your data.

 

Protect Your Password:

Every year, many of our students are exposed to password stealing attacks (phishing) by hackers.

 

We recommend that you update your password regularly (6 months).

 

You should not share your password with any unit or person, including IT staff.

 

It is your personal responsibility to keep your KU NetID password confidential.

 

IT does not collect password information in any way (e-mail or SMS).

 

If you encounter such e-mails, ignore them.
