1. What is KU NetID? Where can I use it?

Koç University Information Technologies is the unit that provides the necessary information technology infrastructure, support and development activities for academic, administrative and research activities throughout the university.

You can access the IT web page via it.ku.edu.tr.

In case of any problems or support needs, you can contact us in these ways

  • By dialling 1111 from any extension phone in the school
  • By calling 0 (212) 338 1111 between 07:30-20:30 on weekdays and 08:30-17:30 on Saturdays via international flights,
  • By making a 24/7 request via the Koç University Job Tracking System “Trackit” link
  • You can also reach other administrative units through the Trackit system used throughout the university. In cases where you do not know which unit to contact, you can search using the search bar on the Trackit web page and create a trackit.
  • By sending an e-mail to it@ku.edu.tr with a request or subject.

2. Who is Koç University Information Technologies (IT)? How can I reach them?

KU NetID is your username which is necessary for you to benefit from Information Technologies facilities throughout your university life.

  • Your KU NetID and password information is sent to you by Koç University via SMS.
  • For security reasons, you must change your password sent to you via SMS after the first login. You can change your password at ku.edu.tr/password. When setting your new password, make sure that it is at least 8 and at most 25 characters, contains at least one uppercase and lowercase letter, at least one special character and does not contain Turkish characters (ş,ı,ö,ç,ğ,ü).
  • In addition to the KUSIS student information system, you will need to use your KU NetID for many of our services such as e-mail, wireless network and Internet, printer services, library resources, use of computers in common areas, and fault reporting.
  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is used to access Koç University accounts.

MFA is most commonly used in two ways;

1) SMS

2) Microsoft Authenticator

We recommend using the Microsoft Authenticator app here. You can download the application from the Apple Store or Play Store.

  • If you forget your password, you can renew your password without the need for IT Service Desk. For this

Firstly, you must enter your personal e-mail address or phone number to verify via the Information Update page.

Then, if necessary, you can reset your password yourself from the Password Reset link.

3. How can I access the Internet on campus?

  • Throughout your university life, you can make many transactions such as course selections, viewing your grades and syllabus, dormitory application and petition creation through this system.
  • You can log in to the KUSIS system with your KU NetID and password from ku.edu.tr.

KUSIS (Koç University Student Information System) is the student information system of Koç University.

4. What is the Student Information System (KUSIS)?

E-Mail

Your Google infrastructure is used for your e-mail account. You need to log in with your KU NetID and password.

Your e-mail address is [KU NetID]@ku.edu.tr.

To access your e-mail account, you can use one of the following steps.

  1. Visit it.ku.edu.tr site. Click on “Gmail” from the featured services

Microsoft Applications at Koç University:

With the cooperation of Koç University Microsoft, you can access some of Microsoft’s applications, especially office applications, and a usage area during your studies.

Koç University Mobile Application:

Koç University Mobile is designed to enhance the campus experience of students and employees with personalised content and up-to-date information.

  • With the mobile application, you will be able to access many university services as well as course evaluation.
  • You can download the mobile application from Apple Store or Play store.

5. How can I print via the printers?

There are three wireless network connections available throughout the campus: KU, GUEST and EDUROAM. Wired connections are also available in the dormitory rooms.

  • KU members can use the KU wireless network connection by using their username (KU NetID) and password.

  • GUEST wireless network is for guests and is a restricted connection. You can also use the GUEST connection when necessary.

  • EDUROAM is a service that allows staff and students of member universities to access the local institution’s wireless network and internet by using their standard usernames and passwords at another member university location as they do at their own institution.

6. What other IT services are frequently used?

  • Find-Me-Printing method is used at Koç University Rumelifeneri and West campuses.
  • Find-Me-Printing allows your users to send their print jobs from their computers or other devices to a single print queue (KUPRINT / WESTPRINT) and receive them from any printer of their choice within two hours.
  • After sending to the KUPRINT pool for your printouts at Rumelifeneri Campus and WESTPRINT pool for your printouts at West Campus, you can print from the printers by scanning your Koç University card.
  • You must have a printer quota in order to print. The University provides a certain number of quotas free of charge every year. In case the quota runs out, you can top up for a fee.

7. What should I keep in mind?

Protect Your Personal Information:

Keep your laptops or mobile devices in a safe place. Back up and secure your data. This way, if your computer is stolen or lost, you will not lose your data.

Protect Your Password:

Every year, many of our students are exposed to password stealing attacks (phishing) by hackers.

We recommend that you update your password at regular intervals (6 months).

You should not share your password with any department or person, including IT staff.

It is your personal obligation to keep your KU NetID password confidential.

BT does not collect password information in any way (by e-mail or SMS).

If you receive such e-mails, please ignore them.
